On Saturday, October 24, 2015 we are having a Food Drive for Community Care. From 9 am to 2 pm volunteers from the church will be accepting canned and non-perishable food items for North Ridgeville Community Care, "North Ridgeville's sole non-profit human service agency which provides goods and services including free food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, counseling and holiday programs for those less fortunate" in our city.
This food drive is being held on Make a Difference Day - "the nation’s largest day of community service. Make A Difference Day is a USA TODAY initiative, backed by the Gannett Company, and wouldn’t be possible without our collaboration with Points of Light and the support of Newman’s Own. It is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Millions of volunteers from across the nation will unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 24, 2015. The stories told around Make A Difference Day show that anyone – regardless of age, location or resources – can accomplish amazing things when they take on the problems they see in their community."
Just pull into the church's parking lot and our volunteers will unload your food donations from your car! Won't you please help us keep the shelves of Community Care's food bank stocked?
First Congregational UCC will be holding its annual craft show on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9 am to 4 pm. Our show features homemade, handmade craft items by approximately 50 vendors. Homemade chili, chicken noodle soup, and sloppy joes will be available in our lunch cafe. The First Congregational UCC Craft Show is part of the North Ridgeville Visitor's Bureau "Holiday on the Ridge", an annual Christmas celebration featuring multiple craft shows, business open houses and a community lighting ceremony at South Central Park. If you are interested in reserving a table, contact the church at (440) 327-2921 or download the craft show contract.
