On Sunday, October 5th, First Congregational Church UCC will be celebrating it's first worship service with our new minister, Rev. Arik Borstad! We hope you will join us at 10:00 a.m. as we welcome Pastor Arik and celebrate World Communion Sunday.
You're invited to join us for a Safe Halloween event being sponsored by the Board of Christian Education. Bring your little Trick or Treaters to this fun event that will include Trunk or Treating, a snack, and a craft. All are invited to wear their Halloween costumes, but please nothing too scary. Church members are invited to come early to get set up to pass out candy from your car trunk. We are also looking for candy donations from church members. Hope you can join us on October 26th from 6:00 - 7:00pm!
First Congregational UCC will be holding its annual craft show on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9 am to 4 pm. Our show features homemade, handmade craft items by approximately 50 vendors. The First Congregational UCC Craft Show is part of the North Ridgeville Visitor's Bureau "Holiday on the Ridge", an annual Christmas celebration featuring multiple craft shows, business open houses and a community lighting ceremony at South Central Park. If you are interested in reserving a table, contact the church at (440) 327-2921 or download the 2014_Craft_Show_Contract.pdf
First Congregational Church UCC of North Ridgeville is happy to announce we have selected our new pastor!
We welcome Rev. Arik Borstad to First Congregational Church. Pastor Arik has been a member of the United Church of Christ his entire life, grew up in Iowa, and currently lives in Missouri. Arik is an honors program graduate from Elmhurst College in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies. He recently earned his Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was honored by receiving Eden Seminary’s Senior Preacher Award and was selected to preach at this year’s Convocation service. In his role as Student Minister while at Eden, he served in three different U.C.C. churches where he was involved in all areas and aspects of ministry. He gained experience with congregational and worship leadership, pastoral care, education, confirmation, and youth programs. Outreach and mission have always played a key role in Arik’s life and his seminary immersion trip to Kenya provided him with valuable insight about the global aspect of the church. Love and justice are at the core of Arik’s beliefs and he feels outreach and mission are important ways to share God’s love with those who need it most.
Pastor Arik officially starts in his role as our full time pastor beginning October 1st. We extend our heartfelt welcome to Pastor Arik and his fiance Allison!
